Why I wrote this book: I have been practicing and reading non-violent communication books since 2014. In that time, what I have encountered is a system of speaking that is difficult to access, and challenging to practice. In addition, attention spans have waned in recent years making it more challenging to use a system that would benefit from an accessible simplified step-by-step process. When you are first reading these topics, expansive and verbose explanations can be beneficial, however, not the easiest to go back and refer in a how-to sense. Over the years, I have kept notes and journal entries of my practice and this book is a culmination of those notes and the workshops I have co-taught. Essentially, I wrote this book because it is the book I need, and others came to me requesting copies to help them. I have taught several workshops and courses in non-violent communication, as well as facilitated a weekly group which has turned into an esoteric NVC book club. It was after reading several books that I realized that the world did not need another NVC book as there are many very well-written ones already. The world needed a reference guide based on real-life experiences. I humbly share my experience for you to learn from. That is why I wrote this guide book.
This book is for you if:
1. You don’t have the time or attention span to read an entire book on non-violent communication.
2. You have read NVC books and you would like an abbreviated reference on the steps and journaling pages to grow your understanding of this language.
3. You have trouble expressing yourself with others and could use an introduction into speaking up with courage and kindness. This is your cliff notes to a more peaceful world.
